According to the origin and field of application of the relays covered, the standards use systems of terms that lead to more or less differing statements in designating relay functions. Where such differences occur, IEC 60050-446 (chapter 446 of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary) and IEC 61810-7 were used as a basis for this Relay Lexicon.
